Three-Year-Old Program (60-70 minutes)
The children discover the beat, and through the songs they learn in class, one sound and two sounds on a beat.
These are called crotchets and quavers: we use time names with the children, so they learn these initially as
ta (crotchet) and ti-ti (quavers).
We introduce andante (at an easy walking pace) to their tempi
and fortissimo (very loud) and mezzo forte (medium loud) to their dynamic range.
Although we listen and play along to a wide range of composers during class, we focus our conscious listening
(while making craft) on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Four-Year-Old Program (60-70 minutes)
The children build on their four beat ta and ti-ti reading patterns increasing their reading to eight beats
and beginning their own rhythmic composition.
During the year they learn four sounds on a beat (semiquavers - tika-tika), no sounds on a beat (crotchet rest - sza)
and one sound lasting two beats (minim ta-aa).
In our craft work, we focus on the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
